sysguy > Spring River scene. I opened the RAW Canon file in Photomatix Pro software and created a Pseudo-HDR images. Result as not too bad, although I had to apply some noise reduction to the image.
sysguy > Original Image used for Pseudo HDR shot previous. Opened and converted in PS CS3. Straight conversion from Camera Raw, no adjustments made
sysguy > Original image of Kilauea lighthouse on Kauai. As you can see the sky is blown out. Used for experimenting with Photomatix Pro. See following two images
sysguy > Same image of Kilauea lighthouse on Kauai. I opened the Canon Raw file directly in Photmatix Pro and created a Pseudo HDR image. Results are not bad but clouds are still blown out
sysguy > Once again the image is the same image of the Kilauea Lighthouse on Kauai, but I used a different technique. I opened the image in Adobe Camera raw and adjusted the exposure down to -3, saved as a JPG, saved an image with an exposure setting of +2 and set one with no exposure changes. Brought all three into Photomatix Pro and created HDR and tonemapped. Much better result in the clouds. See the details.
sysguy > My daughter Breanna is often my test subject when I get a new toy, be it a lens or camera. Here are a series of test shots with a variety of lenses I recently purchased.
